Make plans to attend one of these tonight!
The 73rd Annual Vienna Halloween Parade is tonight at 7 p.m. Maple Avenue/Route 123 and surrounding streets will be closed no later than 6 pm, so plan to arrive in the Town of Vienna early before 5 pm. You can find parking at the Vienna Community Center and surrounding areas, and maybe catch an early dinner before the parade begins. I saw it for the first time last year, and I really enjoyed it. There were some impressive floats.
If crowds and parades aren’t your thing, maybe you’d rather go to the Frankenparty at Tysons-Pimmit Public Library at 7 pm. It’s a celebration of Mary Shelley’s novel, Frankenstein, and there will be cake!
Looking for a more sophisticated option? Visit the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery for the lecture, “Ghosts and Spirits in Buddhist Art and Literature” with George Mason Art History professor and author Robert DeCaroli at 6 pm.
